President

Melissa “Mel” Brooks is a proud Detroit native and lifelong advocate for community service and empowerment. Born and raised in Detroit, her commitment to giving back began at the age of 13 through volunteer work with organizations such as City Year Detroit, local animal shelters, Detroit Receiving Hospital, and the Orchestra of Hygiene Drivers. With over 13 years of professional experience in the mortgage industry, Melissa brings a strong background in finance, operations, and client advocacy.

Driven by her passion for service and community upliftment, Melissa founded Open Heart Community Services to address critical needs in underserved communities across Detroit and beyond. While actively pursuing a nursing degree, she continues to lead the organization with purpose, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to creating lasting impact through education, outreach programs, and resource distribution.

Jeniffer

Treasurer

Jeniffer McGee is a dedicated Outreach Coordinator at Kingdom Builders Christian Church, where she leads initiatives focused on serving women in shelters, feeding the homeless, and supporting underserved youth. With a deep personal connection to the work she does, Jeniffer is committed to empowering others through compassion, advocacy, and action. She is also pursuing a degree in Information Technology and Cybersecurity at Macomb Community College, where she maintains a strong academic record and serves as Vice President of the Cybersecurity Club. Currently employed in IT at a large technology company, Jeniffer brings a unique blend of technical skill and community-centered leadership to everything she does.

Her passion for outreach, education, and technology continues to drive her forward as she builds a career focused on making a meaningful difference.

Tiffani

Communication Liaison

Tiffani Nicole Moore is a licensed attorney, who has practiced law within the state of Michigan for over a decade.  After graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University and obtaining her Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, Tiffani started her legal career advocating against health care disparities experienced by people of color, often leading to traumatic and life-changing injuries, and in some cases, death.  For the last several years, Tiffani has worked as a Supervising Attorney with a local legal aid organization.  In that capacity, Tiffani has worked tirelessly to provide quality legal services to underrepresented individuals in our community, many of whom are extremely low-income, victims of domestic violence, elder abuse, and/or disabled. 

Tiffani is also a full-time mother to three amazing children. When she is not working or serving her community, she enjoys spending quality time with her children. Her commitment to her children drives her passion for community-based work. Tiffani has made the conscious choice of using her talents to care for others, in hopes of making the world a better place for her children and for yours.  She brings a wealth of legal knowledge and community-centered values to the Board and is an invaluable asset to the mission of Open Heart Community Services. 

Bianca

Event/Media Coordinator

Hello my name is Bianca Hardy,
 
As a dedicated professional I am currently employed with Detroit Public School Community District (DPSCD) working in the Office of Communications as a Project Manager.
 
Prior to my employment with DPSCD, I served as a Banker with Bank of America across surrounding areas within Metro Detroit. I offer a wide variety of management experience as I am also the co-founder and co-owner of Liv N a Moment, a Event Management Company that specializes in Balloon and Decorating For Events within Metro Detroit and surrounding areas.
 
As a proud graduate of Eastern Michigan University (EMU) class of 2013, I have a Bachelor of Arts and Science with a concentration of Communications and Business.
 
Above all I am the most proud parent of my six year old daughter Olivia. I am actively involved in my daughter’s school, as I serve as the PTO treasurer and have taken on the responsibility of being a troop leader for the Girl Scouts, showcasing my commitment to both my professional and personal roles.
